Scoring a grant is no small feat for most animal welfare groups — as competitive as that process is for organizations in general, the relative scarcity of grant dollars available for companion-animal-related efforts makes it even moreso for shelters and rescues. However, there are several ways to “beat the system,” as my latest two-part ASPCA blog post explores. Part I offers a wealth of resources that the ASPCA makes available to help animal welfare grantseekers gain an advantage; Part II discusses strategies for linking animal welfare work to human well-being in local communities.
