  • The Angeletti Group will be offering a free webinar, “Planned Giving for the Small Shop,” on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 3:00-4:00pm EST. The presenters will offer tips that any organization can put into practice to build the foundations of an effective gift planning program.

  • The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is awarding Midwestern Disaster Resiliency Grants to improve the capacity and preparedness of disaster-response organizations and government agencies meeting animal welfare needs in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. Grants are expected to range from $500 to $5,000 on average, with certain equipment packages considered up to $25,000.   • The Human-Animal Bond Research Initiative (HABRI) Foundation, in partnership with the Morris Animal Foundation, is providing a total pool of approximately $200,000 in grant funding for 5-10 innovative studies that aim to establish a link between ownership of pets (including dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, and small animals) or animal-assisted activity/therapy and improvement in mental or physical health in humans. Detailed grant guidelines provide more information on how to apply; the application deadline is December 1, 2014.

  • The American Fund for Alternatives to Animal Research, in partnership with the New England Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS), is awarding a one-year (possibly renewable) postdoctoral fellowship grant of $40,000 to a female researcher interested in developing, validating, or using non-animal alternatives to investigate issues related to women’s health or sex differences.
